Eco Boat
We believe this is the first moulded composite marine craft built using vegetable oil resin in the world.
This pretty little 2.4 metre pram dinghy was produced using conventional GRP moulding techniques, woven glass mat, and EcoComp® UV-L resin. (see our resins section)
The hull was moulded in its four component sections (hull, thwart, fore and aft bouyancy tanks) then bonded together. The gunwhale is capped with sustainable soft wood gunwhale with a thin hardwood inlay and riveted to the hull using traditional copper rivets.
For the more technically minded the laminate consists of 10 layers of 300gms woven glass cloth, cured under a bank of UV tanning tubes. Resin glass ratio is ~ 0.8:1
